Jae and Rod's Downtown Portsmouth engagement session was my final shoot for the fall season (or is it winter). And they couldn't have been more perfect. They gave up a day of shopping some of the best deals to meet me at The Renaissance Hotel in Portsmouth, VA. It was a little cold and they never even mentioned it. The light was beautiful and the location was perfect. This was where they had their first date. Nothing fancy...just two people getting to know each other on the side of the Portside Pier. They were extremely photogenic. There isn't one fake laugh in any of the portraits. This was easy and they KILLED'T IT! (Yes, I make up words sometimes)
We headed further into the neighborhood of Historic Downtown Portsmouth. There was a beautiful archway and cute houses that reminded us of New York City's Brownstones. This session was perfectly timed because the trees AND the streets were still full of colorful leaves and that is always my #1 goal for late fall shoots!
These two will be getting married next summer in the Oceanview section of Norfolk and I’m already so excited to see them again!! It’s going to be beautiful!
