JoAnne and Bobby's wedding at The Williamsburg Community Building this past weekend was simply amazing. I had been looking forward to their wedding day for months now. You see, last year JoAnne and Bobby were married last year but didn't have the chance to celebrate with their family and friends due to graduations and relocations. But this celebration was like no other and both families anxiously waited as the day grew closer.
Bobby and JoAnne define fun-loving, family-oriented, compassionate and sweet couples in love and this is everything I hope for when I photograph couples. I keep telling JoAnn that I'm going to clone her. I wish for laughter and joy, beautiful natural light engagement sessions and down-to-earth brides with big hearts for the special people in their lives. We were so luck to snag one of the warmer days for the gorgeous engagement session at The Carlyle Historic Park in Old Town Alexandria last Thursday. If you missed it check it out here.
When I arrived to the bridal suite the girls were seemingly quiet and calm and collected. I was surprised and joked that they were in the penthouse, secluded from the rest of the hotel. JoAnne was sitting in front of the window finishing up her makeup while everyone else enjoyed being in the moment. I have officially dubbed her JoAnne the MUA. Because this girl sat there patiently without frustration with some of her favorite makeup products. She only needed help with one thing, lashes! Gabby was so sweet to help her out with those. JoAnne immediately gave the bridesmaids their gifts. A perfectly curated box filled with Lush bath bombs, the cutest silk robe and Sephora goodies! BEST GIFT EVER! I could feel the love as she watched each of them open with excitement! The girls got all dolled up and we headed to Colonial Williamsburg for the first look and ceremony. They both exchange some of the sweetest, most heartfelt vows. And a few tears were shed. Not a dry eye in sight.
JoAnne and Bobby, I am beyond happy that I was able to witness such a beautiful ceremony. Here's to a couple of forevers in your marriage.
